Full Description: These five days of instructor training provides certification as an Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Instructor. The SFST instructor-development training program involves the methodology of SFST detecting and apprehending impaired drivers, mechanics of testing, recognizing the clues, how to properly administer the tests and other instructional topics acquired with standardized field sobriety testing. Participants are law enforcement officers who have demonstrated proficiency in the administration of the SFSTs, and has successfully completed the basic SFST training program.

**As per new Iowa Code requirements, all certified LEO registrants must have 3 years of certified experience to be approved into this course.**

Requirement: All students bring a computer notebook/laptop with the PowerPoint Application or some similar program to complete this course.

Please note that meals are not provided at the Academy.
