Brief Description: One-Day course to renew current ILEA endorsed Defensive Tactics Instructors

Full Description: This is a physically intensive one day recertification course. You will be learning police tactics that are based on martial arts and combat sports techniques. The day may include striking, wrestling and grappling techniques. The day will include several takedowns. Those attending will be expected to participate fully in the training, those who are not physically capable of performing the techniques may be dismissed from the training without their instructor certification being renewed. The day will also include a teach back period where instructors will be teaching techniques to the recruits at the basic academy. During teaching periods instructors are expected to wear tactical pants and a polo shirt. During training periods instructors can wear athletic clothing that they are comfortable in (shorts and t-shirts). Equipment needed- handcuffs, hand cuff key, duty belts, vests, mouth guard, athletic clothing, tactical pants and polo shirt.

This will extend a valid endorsement for three years, expiring 12/31/2028.
