ILEA Specialty Schools - Firearms Night Vision Pistol & Rifle Operator Course 25B

Brief Description: Two day training for certified peace officers using night vision devices in a duty capacity.

Full Description: This course focuses on shooting techniques when utilizing night vision devices in no light conditions. This course covers night vision equipment selection and maintenance, various lighting and shooting techniques, laser zero, This course is intended to supplement previous firearm instruction, It is open to any ILEA certified officer who may use night vision devices in a duty capacity.

Equipment List:
*Pistol with a duty holster and 3 magazines (Weapon mounted light is required, an optic is recommended).
* Rifle with a sling and 3 magazines (Weapon mounted light and sling are required)
NOTE: A rifle equipped with a Multi-Function Aiming Laser (MFAL) is required. MFAL examples are PEQ-15, NGAL, MAWL, DBAL, OFL, etc.
*250 rounds of ammunition for pistols
* 800 rounds of ammunition for rifles (no green tip ammo)
* Helmet mounted night vision goggles are required
* 5 chemlights are required
* NVG user manual and maintenance equipment
* Gas Mask
* Body armor
* Cleaning kit and weapon lubricant
* Ear protection
* Clear eye protection
* A complete duty belt and/or plate carrier is recommended
* Handheld flashlight(s)
* A headlamp is strongly recommended
* 2 chemlights (any visible color)
* Note taking material
* Batteries for all devices
* Individual first aid kit (IFAK)
* Water & snacks

Prerequisites: Has attended a short or long Basic Academy program in the State of Iowa, or the equivalent in other states.
