One-Day course to renew current ILEA endorsed Firearms Instructors
Full Description
****NEW WAIVER REQUIREMENT - SEE BELOW****
This one-day course will recertify individuals currently holding ILEA certification as a firearms instructor; upon successful course completion, certified firearms instructor status will be renewed until 12/31/2029.

Items on the course agenda include:
* Handgun requalification
* Shotgun requalification
* Written exam
* Use of force law update, if applicable
* Introduction to new training material and resources
* Coaching practice and observation

Note that this is a full day of training; with the exception of the lunch break, please plan to be at the range until approx. 1630 hours. Recertifying instructors will be required to score at least 90% on both the ILEA Firearms Instructor Qualification Course and the ILEA Shotgun Qualification Course. Visit https://ilea.iowa.gov and click “for agencies” then “firearms courses of fire” to find the current required courses of fire and target information.

Equipment Needed:
* Range clothing appropriate for the weather conditions
* Laptop or smart device capable of accessing your Acadis Portal account
* Eye and ear protection
* Ball cap
* Body armor
* Duty handgun
* Duty shotgun
* Duty belt or equivalent
500 rounds of handgun ammunition, 10 rounds of 00 buckshot, and 25 slugs. Practice ammunition only – duty ammunition is not required.
Sunscreen, insect repellant, and water/hydration are highly recommended.

**NEW WAIVER REQUIREMENT**
This training requires a liability waiver to attend. You must attach a dual-signed liability waiver, by both the enrolled individual and the agency head, to this registration in order to meet the pre-requisites for enrollment approval. If your waiver is not attached or not signed, your enrollment request will be denied. You cannot hold or save a spot for the training before you turn in your liability waiver.

The current liability waivers can be found in the Acadis Academy Resources Document Library. Please ensure you have selected and filled out the correct waiver, or your request for enrollment will be denied.
