Brief Description: 5-Day Rifle Marksmanship Training

Full Description: ****NEW WAIVER REQUIREMENT - SEE BELOW****

This 5-day law enforcement basic marksman course is designed as a foundational training for officers assigned to a marksman role within their agency. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have received training in the areas of marksmanship, equipment setup, long-range shooting, observation skills, and marksman mindset to integrate with their own agency’s particular methods of operation. Students will also be introduced to alternate shooting positions, basic tripod use, and instructed on how these skills apply to their role as a law enforcement marksman.

This course has a heavy emphasis on learning the “why” in order to increase the student’s understanding and problem-solving skills. The curriculum will take a stair-stepped progression and will utilize individual coaching and feedback to teach the fundamentals of precision shooting.

Required Equipment:
* Eye and ear protection
* Centerfire precision rifle with scope and bipod capable of 1 MOA accuracy
* 500 rounds of match-grade ammo for your rifle system
* Scope manual
* Shooting mat and rear bag/sand sock
* Deployment gear (gun belt, chest rig, etc.)
* Weather appropriate clothing and support gear, sunscreen, etc.
* Laser range finder (if issued)
* Gas Mask (if issued)
* Shooting Tripod (if issued)
* Binoculars or spotting scope recommended
* Snacks, lunch and water
* Cleaning equipment for your weapon system is recommended

**NEW WAIVER REQUIREMENT**
This training requires a liability waiver to attend. You must attach a dual-signed liability waiver, by both the enrolled individual and the agency head, to this registration in order to meet the pre-requisites for enrollment approval. If your waiver is not attached or not signed, your enrollment request will be denied. You cannot hold or save a spot for the training before you turn in your liability waiver.

The current liability waivers can be found in the Acadis Academy Resources Document Library. Please ensure you have selected and filled out the correct waiver, or your request for enrollment will be denied.
